The three ways to get an AI music video
| Option | Typical cost | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| DIY AI video apps | A monthly subscription, often with credit limits | Clips you generate and edit yourself. Your time, your learning curve. |
| Done-for-you AI music video | Usually priced per minute or per project | A finished, directed video: concept, scenes, lip-sync, edit and grade. |
| Traditional music video shoot | From a few hundred dollars for a basic indie shoot to many thousands for a crew and locations | Real footage of you, but costs grow with locations, crew, extras and days. |
Our price, as a real example
At Verse & Frame, a done-for-you AI music video costs $30 per minute of finished video:
- 60-second teaser: $30
- 3:00 song: $90
- 3:30 song: $105
- 4:00 song: $120
- Release Pack (adds 3 vertical clips, thumbnail and 4K): +$50
Every package includes unlimited revisions, so the price does not change if you want scenes adjusted.
What affects the cost of an AI music video
- Length. Longer songs need more unique scenes. That is why per-minute pricing is the fairest model.
- Lip-sync. Performance shots take more work than story scenes. Some studios charge extra; ours is included.
- Character consistency. Keeping the same face and outfit across 20+ shots takes careful production.
- Revisions. Many services cap revisions and charge for more. Check before you order.
- Extra formats. Vertical clips, thumbnails and 4K versions may be add-ons.
Is DIY cheaper?
On paper, yes. In practice, generating usable clips, keeping characters consistent, syncing lips and editing to the beat takes many hours and usually several paid credit top-ups. If your time is better spent writing and promoting music, a done-for-you service is often the better value.
How to get the most for your budget
- Choose one focus single for a full video and use visualizers for the other tracks.
- Ask for vertical cut-downs at the same time; they are cheaper made together.
- Send clear references and lyrics up front to avoid unnecessary rounds.
